Our Team

David A. Reiser, CPA, CPMA

Managing Partner

Dave serves as the firm's Managing Partner and oversees strategic direction of the firm. He is responsible for practice administration, staff assignments, firm growth decisions and other areas. His expertise includes over 15 years of accounting experience dealing with all size of clients and various services.

Dave specializes in the accounting and auditing field and consults with clients on accounting issues and internal control improvements. He also has expertise in strategic planning, business valuations and tax planning. He has performed numerous consulting projects for clients pertaining to the above specialties.

Dave graduated from Bowling Green State University with a BSBA in Accounting. He also received Certification as a Certified Professional Management Advisor.

Dave is a member of the AICPA and the Ohio Society of CPAs. He is also an active member of the Bryan Rotary Club, New Hope Community Church and serves on the Board of Directors for Sarah's House. He is a past board member of Napoleon/Henry County Chamber of Commerce and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Henry County.

Thomas F. Moriarty, CPA

Tax Partner

A native of Napoleon, Tom graduated from Bowling Green State University and returned to Napoleon to work and raise a family. Relying on over 25 years of experience, Tom provides high level tax planning for our clients, allowing them to better plan for the future. Tom is also in charge of the tax related practice along with overseeing all tax-specific professional education for the firm, monitoring all legislative changes, and evaluation their impact on our client base.

Tom is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. An active member of his community, Tom serves on the Henry County Metropolitan Housing Authority Board of Directors. He is also the Treasurer for Henry County CASA/GAL and the Napoleon High School Alumni Association and Secretary of the Napoleon Rotary Club. He has also served on the Napoleon Area City School and Four County Career Center Boards of Education and Napoleon/Henry County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

David E. Rupp, CPA

Former Partner

A native of Pettisville, Dave received his Bachelors Degree from the Western Kentucky University and returned to Northwest Ohio to pursue his career. Dave has worked in the accounting field for over 30 years. In addition to the many tax and accounting issues he addresses with his client base, he works with a diverse group of companies on issues relating to family business and succession planning. His expertise in business valuations, mergers, acquisitions, and estate planning serve his clients well.

Dave is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and a Past member of the Ohio Society of CPA Agribusiness Committee and MAP Committee.

Brant C. Darnell, CPA

A&A Partner

Brant joined Penrod & George in 1999 after working several years for a private manufacturing company. Brant graduated from Baylor University with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He serves on the accounting and audit team and is responsible for the timely and accurate completion of many of our largest audits.

Brant serves many of our larger clients and has focused his time in the manufacturing and non-profit areas of our firm. He also has expertise in business interruption claims and tax planning. He serves as a trusted advisor to many of our clients and is actively involved with helping them with many different business issues.

Brant is a member of the AICPA and the Ohio Society of CPAs and is involved in the Wauseon Rotary Club and the Toledo, OH chapter of Truth @ Work.

Bill Blakely

Accountant

Bill has been working in the Accounting field for 8 years; the last 5 with Penrod & George. He specializes in the areas of manufacturing and construction audits, year-end reviews and compilations. Bill also does corporate year-end tax work for some of our clients.

Bill graduated from DeVry University in Columbus, Ohio with a Bachelors of Accounting degree. Bill is currently studying for the CPA Exam and plans to sit for the exam in 2012.

Bill is an active member of Life Changing Realities Fellowship.

Bill's mission at Penrod & George is to provide our clients with the highest level of assistance using the many resources that he, the firm and the staff have to offer.

Kelsey McDade

Accountant

Kelsey has been working in the Accounting and Audit fields for 7 years: the last year at Penrod & George. She specializes in audits, year-end reviews and compilations. Kelsey also completes corporate year-end tax work and prepares individual tax returns for some of our clients.

Kelsey graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a Bachelors of Accounting degree.

Kelsey attends St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Carma Rupp

Senior Staff Accountant

Carma has been with Penrod & George for over 40 years. During that time, she has worked on many different clients providing many different levels of services. Currently, she focuses on monthly compilations, monthly and quarterly payroll taxes and specialty tax areas. She also prepares many of the year-end tax returns for our clients.

Carma graduated from the International Business College with an Associates degree in Accounting.

Tari Hockman

Staff Accountant

Tari has been with Penrod & George for over 30 years. She is well versed in QuickBooks and Peachtree and often works very closely with our clients in their efforts to better utilize these softwares. She is also responsible for payroll, payroll taxes and monthly compilations for several of our clients as well as year-end financial statements and tax returns.

Tari graduated from Northwest State Community College with an Associates degree in Accounting.

Tari is an active member in the Patrick Henry Athletic Boosters and Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Jennifer Becker

Staff Accountant

For over 5 years, Jennifer has been working for Penrod & George in the areas of payroll, monthly compilations, and specialty taxes. She works directly with clients using QuickBooks and Peachtree as well as specialty softwares. Jennifer also does the year-end financial statements and tax returns for many of our clients.

Jennifer's coursework at the International Business College and Tri-State University (Fort Wayne Campus) gained her a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

Jennifer is an active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Sherwood and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.

Jennifer strives to help anyone needing assistance either directly or by pointing them in the right direction to solve their problems.

Novell Meyer

Firm Administrator

As the Firm Administrator, Novell's role covers many facets, including: all Human Resource functions, all internal accounting and bookkeeping functions; staffing and workflow monitoring; budgeting and efficiency tracking; process efficiencies; and general functionality of the offices. With almost 20 years of experience in the Accounting field, Novell brings a variety of experiences and levels of knowledge to her role. She has been with Penrod & George for over 7 years.

Novell graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with dual areas of specialization in Accounting and Administrative Management.

Novell is an active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Defiance County Master Gardeners.

Novell's personal mission at Penrod & George is to assist the partners and the staff with the resources needed to fully utilize their capabilities and to achieve their goals and mission statements.

Lisa DeLong

Administrative Assistant/Staff Accountant

With more than 20 years of accounting experience, Lisa has brought expertise to several areas at Penrod & George over the last six years. She spends most of her time on client services, monthly compilations, payroll and payroll taxes and clients using QuickBooks. Lisa also does year-end individual tax returns for many of our clients.

Lisa obtained her Bachelors of Accounting degree thru coursework at the International Business College and Defiance College.

Lisa is an active member of St. Patrick Church. She spends her time encouraging and supporting her high school daughter and enjoying the rest of her family.

Jessica Ailiff

Administrative Assistant/Staff Accountant

Although she has worked in the Accounting field for over 10 years, Jessica has worked for Penrod & George for the last five years. Jessica's time is mainly focused on client services, return and financial statement processing and payroll and bookkeeping services for our clients. Jessica also does year-end tax returns for many of our clients.

Jessica graduated from Northwest State Community College with an Associates degree in Accounting.
